Shopify Analytics
Shopify Storefront data and cart logic is bound to your Webflow elements through Shopyflow attributes. Connecting your Webflow site to Shopify is done by adding custom attributes to your Webflow elements.
Yet, you are not required to type or edit attributes manually. Shopyflow provides you with the pre-configured components needed to create your store, as copyable Webflow elements right in Webflow designer.
All the copyable Shopyflow Components are native editable Webflow elements. There is no layout or styling limitation on any element.

Shopify Analytics provides store owners with key data on sales, customer behavior and website performance, all within the Shopify dashboard. It helps businesses track trends, measure marketing effectiveness and make informed decisions to optimize their store’s growth and profitability.
Because your storefront runs on Webflow (a headless storefront), Shopify can’t see visitors on its own. Storesynk closes that gap: it sends page views, product views and add-to-cart events from your Webflow site directly to Shopify Analytics and shares the Shopify session cookies with your checkout, so the whole customer journey, from the first page a visitor lands on in Webflow, through add to cart, to the completed order in Shopify checkout, shows up as one session in your Shopify Analytics.
You can start using Shopify Analytics with Storesynk by enabling it in Storesynk Webflow App > Installation > Advanced Tracking
Domain Settings
Your Webflow and Shopify domains MUST share the same top level domain (TLD) to allow seamless tracking between Webflow and Shopify. This means one of them should be on the main domain and the other on the subdomain.
Example:
- in Webflow mystore.com
- in Shopify checkout.mystore.com
Storesynk sets the Shopify session cookies (_shopify_y and _shopify_s) on the shared top level domain, which is what lets Shopify recognise the visitor who browsed your Webflow site as the same person who later reaches the checkout.
User Consent
Shopify Analytics requires you to collect user consent before it can start tracking. Until consent is given, no page views, sessions or events are sent to Shopify.
Stores without consent pop-up
If your store doesn't have a cookie consent pop-up you should turn off the Require Consent switch in Storesynk Webflow App > Installation > Advanced Tracking > Shopify Analytics. Storesynk will then set consent automatically and start tracking on the first page view.
Stores with consent pop-up
If your store uses a cookie consent pop-up, keep the Require Consent switch on and run this code after user makes a selection (accepts or rejects) on your cookie consent pop-up. You can find details on how to listen for customers’ selections in your cookie consent pop-up's documentation.
window.Shopyflow.tracking.setShopifyConsent({
analytics: true, // Get from user's selection
marketing: true, // Get from user's selection
preferences: true, // Get from user's selection
sale_of_data: true, // Get from user's selection
});When consent is granted after the page has loaded, Storesynk re-sends the landing page view with the original referrer and UTM parameters, so the session is still attributed to the right traffic source.
When using a consent pop-up you should also whitelist these cookies (set as necessary cookies) in your cookie consent pop-up's settings

Events
Once your setup is complete, Storesynk will start sending the following e-commerce events from your Webflow site to your Shopify Analytics dashboard:
- View Page: sent on every page load. This is what starts and keeps alive the visitor’s session in Shopify Analytics and records the landing page, referrer and UTM parameters used for attribution.
- Product View: sent when a product is viewed on your Webflow site.
- Add to Cart: sent when a product is added to the cart on your Webflow site, including the product, variant, price and quantity.
Reaching the checkout and completing the purchase are tracked by Shopify itself in the checkout. Because the session cookies are shared across your domains, these are attributed to the same session that started on your Webflow site.
Together these events populate Shopify’s online store conversion funnel: Sessions → Added to cart → Reached checkout → Sessions converted, as well as the sessions, traffic source and conversion rate reports.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do visitors who never reach the checkout show up as sessions in Shopify?
Yes. With Shopify Analytics enabled in Storesynk, a session is created in Shopify Analytics as soon as a visitor loads any page of your Webflow site (once consent is given). Visitors who only browse, and never add to cart or reach the checkout, are counted as sessions too, just like they would be on a Shopify Online Store theme. If you only see sessions for people who reached the checkout, Shopify Analytics is either not enabled in the Storesynk app, consent is not being collected/set, or your Webflow and Shopify domains don't share the same top level domain.
What does the Add to Cart event actually do?
The add to cart button always adds the product to the Shopify cart. When Shopify Analytics is enabled, Storesynk additionally sends an Add to Cart event to Shopify Analytics with the product, variant, price and quantity. This is what places the visitor in the Added to cart step of the conversion funnel and powers reports such as Sessions with cart additions. Without it, Shopify would only see visitors from the moment they land on the checkout.
